Calling all Friends, Family, and people I don’t know.

Help me finish the Philadelphia Marathon by cheering me on!

I will be updating my facebook during the race – www.facebook.com/sitpretty

I will be running between 9 and 10 minute miles with an expected finish time of 11:20 AM

If you are physically going to attend and not just on facebook there are Cheer Zones set up with refreshments and other crap:

Here are some key points on the map and my expected time to be passing them.

The race starts in waves, I might not actually start the race until 7:15 or so. My actual start time will affect the times below. Times below are the earliest I would be passing that spot.

Race start – 22nd and Ben Franklin – 7:00 AM
Front and South – 7:35
6th and Chestnut – 7:50
Broad and Chestnut – 8:00
Philly Zoo – 8:30
Art Museum – ½ way – 9:10

At this point it’s going to get fuzzy. I think I can keep the pace up, but who knows.

Kelly Drive and Rosevelt – 10:00
Main and Grey St – 10:20
Kelly Drive and Roosevelt again – 10:35

St. Joe’s boathouse – 10:45

Finish 11:20

Thanks for your support!

Here goes:

Everyone has been asking a lot of questions this last week.

How do you feel?
Are you ready?
Do you have life insurance?

Well, I feel pretty good. I was a bit depressed and sad a few days ago. I felt kind of lonely and scared.
But than I started talking to a bunch of my friends about the race and it made me feel better.
The other feelings kind of got overrun with excitement.

Ready or Not, Here I come. I’ve done the best I can to prepare. I’ve pushed my body harder than I ever have in my life. These last few months have been hell. But I keep going and going. There is nothing that is going to stop me from running the full marathon.

Having said that, yes, I do have life insurance. Hopefully I don’t need it for a very, very long time.

The team at work surprised me with a gift today.

A red shirt and sweatband that says “Run, Bitches”

It was a really nice surprise.

I love running in the rain.

4 miles today.

All easy runs for the next week and a half.
