What a difference 15 degrees and 40% humidity makes.

Every Friday from now until the Philadelphia Marathon I’ll be running the Ben Franklin Bridge at 12:30 – Rain or shine.

If you ever want to join me, you know where to find me.

I guess it also holds true if you want to mug me, but be forwarned – I’m fast and broke :)

Today was an amazing run and I feel great. The kind of day that reminds you why you really don’t hate running all that much.

I ran a nice slow 6 miles today. averaged just over 9 minute miles.

starting to build up my endurance and stamina.

today I read articles in runners world and listened to a new ‘station’ on Pandora.

The reading part was a little tough. I haven’t tried reading on a treadmill in a long time. I found that I had to re-read many lines and some of the fonts are way to small. But it gave me something to do and think about. Normally I try and get my mind to think about making it over the next wave, next mile, next minute, next second. It’s not a very relaxing way to run.

The music was a really nice surprise. I listened to a Kings of Leon album this morning on grooveshark and liked it. So I created a new station on Pandora by simply typing in “Kings of Leon”. Pandora played a nice mix of new (alternative?) rock music from bands I don’t necessarily know or listen to. Here is my station

Very good run overall.

Last week I ran 4 days, took off Sunday and Monday.
I’m shaping up quickly and feeling great. Each run is getting easier.

Keep it up everyone, it gets better :)

Too hot to type.

Need shower and water.

Went to hell. Come join me.

Another ‘awesome’ run this evening with the kids.

It really feels like a chore going out and running in the oppressive heat, damn I wish it wasn’t worth it, but it is.

running is incredible exercise and it works.

Can I ask a favor of you? In the spirit of transparency and honesty, I want to point out that this is a request for my friends benefit, but it shouldn’t take more than a couple of seconds of your time. A computer company named eGroup is running this contest to win an iPad.

sad little puppy will die if you don't like Tony's photoNow, you might be saying, “But James, I thought you already have an iPad?” You’re wrong, I don’t. But I’m not asking for me, I’m asking for my friend Tony. Tony wants to get one for his poor aging ego lost wondering puppy, whom could really use it with its online classes GeoCaching (its trying to find it’s way home). So, if you can help Tony win, this iPad, then he’ll have one for his ego to use. the puppy can find his way home, and not die.

Here’s what I need you to do:

Go the eGroup Facebook page and “Like” this page:
http://www.facebook.com/#!/eGroupInc

Vote for Tony’s photos by “Liking” this photo:

http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?pid=173491&id=123766450990135

You’ll need to be sure to actually click on the photo and then “Like” the photo in order for the vote to count!

That’s all! See, I told you it would only take a couple of seconds.

Besides, we all know you’re probably going to log into Facebook sometime today anyway, so why not take a minute and help the puppy out?

Now you might be surprised by that considering all the miles I’ve put on my body, but running in the heat and humidity is one of the worst things in the world.

It’s like some type of strange torture that I’m putting myself through.

I just ran 4 miles with the kids and I could barely make it.

it’s 86 degrees, feels like 91 and there’s 80% humidity.

might as well try to run through hell

I don’t even feel good after I’ve finished. I feel tired, fat, and like shit.

I can’t wait for fall.
